Custom pullover hoodies are built from four decisions: fabric and weight, construction and trims, decoration, and the private label pack. Each one changes cost, lead time and how the finished piece reads.
Fabric. The options we run most are 100% cotton fleece for premium streetwear positioning; cotton-poly fleece for repeatable shape and color; French terry for a lighter body. For pullover hoodies the practical weight reference is 280–400 GSM, with 380 GSM and above producing a structured, heavy hand. Ordering by weight figure alone is not enough — two fabrics can both be called the same weight and still behave differently in wash, drape and color retention, so composition and shrinkage are confirmed by wash testing.
Construction and trims. The build includes a double-layer hood, which is what stops the hood collapsing after a few washes; a split kangaroo pocket with bartacks at both corners; rib cuffs and hem matched from a single dye lot; a drawcord system specified by cord type, tip and eyelet material.
Decoration. Available routes include screen print, puff print, embroidery, applique and washes. Decoration is approved on the actual fabric rather than on a test swatch, because stretch, pile, coating and heat sensitivity all change the result.
Private label pack. Woven neck labels, size and care labels, logo tags, hangtags, barcoded polybags and printed cartons. A garment can leave the sewing line finished and still not be retail-ready, and this layer is what closes that gap.
A note specific to this category: Pullover hoodies fail at the hood and the pocket corners before anywhere else. A single-layer hood loses its shape, and an unbartacked pocket corner tears within a season — both are cheap to prevent at sampling and expensive to correct in bulk.
