What custom options are available for denim jacket manufacturing?

Custom denim jackets are built from four decisions: fabric and weight, construction and trims, decoration, and the private label pack. Each one changes cost, lead time and how the finished piece reads.

Fabric. The options we run most are lightweight denim for a softer, fashion-forward hand; mid-weight denim as the commercial everyday option; heavyweight denim for heritage and vintage positioning. For denim jackets the practical weight reference is denim is specified in ounces: 8–10 oz for lighter styles, 11–13 oz for the commercial middle, 14–16 oz for vintage and heritage outerwear, and 16 oz and above for the heaviest builds. Ordering by weight figure alone is not enough — two fabrics can both be called the same weight and still behave differently in wash, drape and color retention, so composition and shrinkage are confirmed by wash testing.

Construction and trims. The build includes a trucker-style body with the panels, yokes and pleats locked by pattern, not by reference photo; hardware finished to match the wash level; a wash program developed and approved on the actual garment; shrinkage behaviour confirmed by wash testing before bulk cutting.

Decoration. Available routes include embroidery, leather patches, printed branding, tonal or contrast stitching, custom hardware. Decoration is approved on the actual fabric rather than on a test swatch, because stretch, pile, coating and heat sensitivity all change the result.

Private label pack. Woven neck labels, size and care labels, logo tags, hangtags, barcoded polybags and printed cartons. A garment can leave the sewing line finished and still not be retail-ready, and this layer is what closes that gap.

A note specific to this category: Denim jackets are approved on the washed garment, not the prototype. Fit approval based on an unwashed sample and then a heavy wash in bulk is how the same style arrives two sizes off spec.
