What customization options are available for custom vests production?

Custom vests are built from four decisions: fabric and weight, construction and trims, decoration, and the private label pack. Each one changes cost, lead time and how the finished piece reads.

Fabric. The options we run most are technical nylon and polyester shells for utility and outdoor styles; padded or quilted constructions for warmth; cotton canvas and twill for workwear-led vests. For vests the practical weight reference is chosen by purpose: light shells for layering, heavier padded builds for insulation. Ordering by weight figure alone is not enough — two fabrics can both be called the same weight and still behave differently in wash, drape and color retention, so composition and shrinkage are confirmed by wash testing.

Construction and trims. The build includes a front closure specified with the right zipper or snap configuration for the use case; lining or fill chosen against the intended warmth; pocket layout planned around the vest's purpose, whether utility or insulation; armhole and shoulder construction that layers cleanly over other garments.

Decoration. Available routes include embroidery, patches, printed branding, woven labels, reflective print. Decoration is approved on the actual fabric rather than on a test swatch, because stretch, pile, coating and heat sensitivity all change the result.

Private label pack. Woven neck labels, size and care labels, logo tags, hangtags, barcoded polybags and printed cartons. A garment can leave the sewing line finished and still not be retail-ready, and this layer is what closes that gap.

A note specific to this category: A vest is judged on how it layers. Armhole shape and shoulder width decide whether it works over a hoodie or only over a tee, and that is a pattern decision made at sampling — not a size grading adjustment afterwards.
