How to find a reliable cargo pants manufacturer for custom orders?

Choosing a manufacturer for custom cargo pants comes down to four checks: category experience, specification control, evidence, and commercial fit.
Category experience. Cargo pants are judged by what happens when the pockets are loaded. A 280 GSM twill that looks correct on a flat sample will sag at the cargo pocket once worn, while the same pattern in 380 GSM twill holds its line — which is why fabric weight is locked before fit approval.
Specification control. A manufacturer should be able to describe the fabric, the weight reference and the construction items it will control: cotton twill, the standard starting point for cargo and heavier twill for structure and pocket support, with elastic or drawcord waistbands with tuned tension and zip flies with YKK or equivalent zippers, or button flies with metal shanks. If those are vague before you order, they will be vague during production.
Evidence. Ask for a QC checklist, a measurement sheet with tolerances, the AQL standard they work to, and a clear statement of what is produced in-house versus subcontracted. A supplier that answers yes to everything has not read your brief.
Commercial fit. Minimum order is 100 pieces per color per style, sampling runs 7–10 days, bulk production 30–45 days, and indicative FOB pricing for cargo pants sits in the $8–30+ range — fabric weight, wash and hardware count drive the number.
